Getting Even

Full of mystery and suspense Clair Poulson glues you to the story from start to finish. You can’t help but get invested with the characters. The reader of the book is hands down amazing with making it come alive with the different voices. I highly recommend this book to all those who enjoy a good mystery and the feel of suspense.

Courting the Victor’s Daughter

Book six of the Branches of Love Series by Sally Britton was delightful. It was fun to get to know Harry and Daisy has Harry tried to court her. If you like books that connect to other books and that are full of romance and wittiness then this book and series is for you.

Book Blurb

A gentleman lacking direction and a vicar’s daughter full of conviction have little in common. But as their friendship grows, so do deeper feelings.

Harry Devon, son of a wealthy gentleman who cared more for money than his family, has returned to the family estate at last. Without direction, and lacking the knowledge necessary to run his estate, Harry is prepared to leave it to others to make the difficult decisions. Until he meets the vicar’s daughter.

Augusta Ames, who much prefers the childhood nickname Daisy, is preparing to open a school for daughters of poor tenant farmers. In the habit of serving others, Daisy determines to help Harry find his path and place in their community. When he embraces her plan with enthusiasm, their friendship begins to blossom into something more.

But the Devon legacy is regarded with suspicion, thanks to the greed and cruelty of Harry’s late father. When the neighborhood finds reason to turn on Harry, will Daisy trust her heart enough to love him still?

While this is the sixth novel in the regency romance series Branches of Love, it can be read as a stand-alone romance.

Miss Devon’s Choice

The fifth book of the Branches of Love series by Sally Britton was excellent. I was hooked from the very beginning to the very end. I loved seeing the growth between the two main characters and the chemistry is one every romantic wishes to have. If you like regency time period novels, then you will love this one.

Book Blurb

An arranged marriage, a choice to love, and the hope for happily ever after. This is a sweet and clean regency romance.

Rebecca Devon lives under the severe eye of her aunt and the iron will of her father. Though she wears what she is told and befriends the people they choose for her, she spends every moment longing to do as she wishes. Knowing freedom will only come through marriage, her hopes for a happy union are stolen away when her father arranges her marriage to a complete stranger.

Christian Hundley, Lord Easton, has learned the hard way that English society won’t accept a person who looks or behaves differently than their ideal. He has hidden himself away from scornful eyes for years until his aging grandfather takes matters in hand and finds Christian a bride. Knowing he must agree to the marriage, Christian shields his heart. If the whole of society cannot accept him, why should his bride?

Rebecca knows she must have love in her life, but Christian is convinced there is nothing so fraught with danger and pain as entrusting one’s heart to another. Rebecca does everything she can to change his mind, but Christian is determined to remain aloof.

Can an arranged marriage ever be anything other than a business partnership?
